Read up on my first writing piece for Challenge Family, LIVING THE DREAM, where I talk about my "different" background, growing up in Italy, water-sports in Hawaii, and more:
This past week I raced the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Cartagena ($25,000 purse), and after a FASTEST SWIM and FASTEST BIKE which put me in T2 with a 5 min lead, I hung on for 2nd place among the male professionals.
This sold-out event was a BIG deal in this crazy Colombian town, with 20-30,000 spectators lining up along the course! As per my usual racing style, it was fun to enjoy it OFF THE FRONT for the vast majority of the race.
